Q. Why is CSU upgrading to Banner 9 Admin Pages?
A. Support for Banner 8 administrative forms will end on December, 31 of 2018. All Ellucian customers must start using Banner 9 administrative pages prior to this date.
Q. When will I be required to use Banner 9 Admin Pages?
A. Banner 8 administrative forms will be available until October, 1st 2018. Starting on that date, Banner 9 Admin Pages will be the only way to access the application. You will be able to begin using the Banner 9 Admin Pages now and we encourage you to take advantage of all of the supplied training materials and sessions prior to October 1st.
Q. Will this change impact Banner Self-Service (SSB) applications?
A. No. Banner Self-Service applications will be upgraded to their corresponding Banner 9 counterparts at a later date.
Q. Will any functionality be lost in Banner 9?
A. Banner 9 Administrative Pages will have the same functionality as Banner 8, however, some of the keyboard shortcuts you may have used previously will be different. Once logged into Banner 9 Admin Pages, look for the "Keyboard Shortcuts" link in the bottom right.
Q. Is Banner 9 Admin Pages "mobile friendly?"
A. Banner 9 Admin Pages will function well on tablets but is not designed to scale down on smaller devices like smartphones.
Q. Will I have to use the same separate username and password to access Banner 9 Administrative Pages?
A. No. Banner 9 Administrative Pages are accessible via MyCSU and leverage single sign-on technology so you don't have to log in separately.
Q. Will I have to make sure that my version of Java is up-to-date like before?
A. No. Banner 9 does not require the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to function.
Q. What web browser will I be required to use in order to access Banner 9 Administrative Pages?
A. Because Banner 9 Administrative Pages does not require the Java Runtime Environment, you can use any modern web browser to access it.
Q. How do I access Banner 9 Admin Pages?
A. You will access Banner 9 Admin Pages in the same location in MyCSU that you accessed Banner 8 Administrative Forms. Look for a new application tile titled "Banner Admin Pages" on your Faculty or Staff Applications page.

Q. Am I required to use the grade book feature that comes with Banner 9 Faculty Grade Entry?
A. No. You should continue to follow the policy/procedure outlined by your academic department or college as it pertains to grade book use. The grade book feature that is part of the new application is there for your use if you so choose.
